RATBLOCKER

Ratblocker Install Guide

1. Once the manhole cover is removed, identify which outlet(s) requires a rat blocker and ensure they are free-flowing and clear of debris.

2. Offer the Hamelin Rat Blocker up to the outlet – if the manhole is particularly deep or hard to access then the optional installation pole (SKU RB/Pole) can be used, although this is not a requisite purchase.

3. If a tighter or looser fit is desired, use a pair of pliers to tweak the four adjustable corner tabs.

4. Then fully insert the rat blocker, ensuring the flap allows for flow in the correct direction – the top nut and bolt can be moved to allow for inlet installation if preferred.

5. For added piece of mind, a tether kit can be used to anchor the rat blocker to the side of the chamber, although this is optional.

6. Finally, test the installation by flushing a toilet upstream of the rat blocker to ensure free flow.
