At Hamelin Pest, we know that dealing with rats, mice and other pests is stressful and you’re bound to have questions! We understand that when you’re dealing with rodents, you need fast and reliable solutions with clear guidance on how to use our products effectively and safely.

Can the Preventavent range be used for other pests, not just rodents?

The air brick covers in our Preventavent range prevent a whole range of pests from entering buildings but are primarily designed towards rodents.

Do I need a professional pest control company to install a Preventavent product?

No, the product is simple to install and can be secured in place by either adhesive or 5.5mm screws. Please see our Installation Guide for more information on air brick covers.

How do I use the Preventavent range?

Simply locate all air bricks/vents around the property and ensure you have the correct size Preventavent to cover the entire vent. Then choose whether you would like to secure the product with screws or adhesive.

What size mesh will keep mice and rats out?

A rat can fit through a 20mm gap whereas mice can fit through a gap as small as 6mm.

Our Preventavent mesh has an aperture of 1.98mm.

Are your products UK made?

We are proud to manufacture our products at our site in Hereford, England, for the following reasons:

  • We want to support local economy and sustain further UK employment.
  • We believe we can produce better product quality and provide a faster turnaround for our customers.
  • A lower carbon footprint than if we were to export
  • Ability to provide a 'no minimum order quantity'.

When will I receive my product?

We aim for all products to reach you within 2-3 working days. We use Fed Ex and pack your order by hand to ensure everything is correct. Want something sooner? Get in touch to see if we can help.

Can I return an item?

We are happy to refund your purchased items providing they are faulty or damaged on arrival with you. Please contact us on info@hamelinpest.com with your date of purchase and details of the faulty items and we will be in touch to arrange a replacement to be sent out to you.
